mHUB is a leading innovation center dedicated to advancing physical product development and hardtech innovation. Established in 2017, mHUB has become a pivotal hub for startups, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs, fostering the commercialization of early-stage physical products across various sectors, including advanced manufacturing, climate and energy tech, and medical devices. The center offers state-of-the-art prototyping labs, a micro-factory, and a robust network of industry experts and mentors, providing unparalleled resources for product development and commercialization.
In April 2023, mHUB expanded its facilities with the acquisition and renovation of a historic 80,000-square-foot building at 1623 W. Fulton Street in Chicago's Near West Side, making it the largest independent manufacturing innovation center in the U.S. This expansion aims to enhance Illinois' capacity for manufacturing and cleantech innovation, offering increased prototyping and testing facilities, office spaces, and equitable access to underserved communities.
mHUB's commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident in its Catalyze Initiative, which supports underrepresented founders through non-dilutive funding and hands-on support. Since its inception, mHUB has supported over 500 startups and 200 manufacturers globally, creating more than 5,000 jobs and generating over $2.6 billion in economic activity. The center continues to drive innovation and collaboration, positioning Chicago as a destination for hardtech innovators worldwide.
